* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 11 feet and dangerous rip
  currents.

* WHERE...High Surf for north facing reefs of the Marianas. High
  Risk of Rip Currents for north and east facing reefs.

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM ChST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
  localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
  swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Surf is already elevated due to a complex
  mixture of swells moving through the region, generated by distant
  systems. As a shear line descends into the islands and a pulse of
  northerly swell moves into the region, hazardous surf around
  9 feet for north facing reefs and dangerous rip currents along
  north and east facing reefs are expected to develop. Surf is
  expected to peak around 11 feet Sunday before slowly decreasing
  Sunday night and Monday as the shear line weakens and the
  northerly swell diminishes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers
should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.
If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against
the current. If able, swim in a direction following the
shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave
for help.

  northeasterly swell that assisted in the development of the 
  hazardous surf along north facing reefs has shifted to the east. 
  This has allowed surf to fall below hazardous levels along north 
  facing reefs. A high risk for rip currents is expected to linger 
  for east facing through Tuesday afternoon as easterly swell remains
  elevated.

Both Ipan buoy and a local spotter report that the surf has fallen 
below the 9 foot threshold for a high risk of rip currents. These 
surf conditions are expected to continue to gradually fall over the 
next several days.
