548 WHMY40 PGUM 221839 CFWGUM URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service Tiyan GU 439 AM ChST Tue Jun 23 2026 MPZ002-003-230800- /O.NEW.PGUM.RP.S.0017.260622T2000Z-260623T0800Z/ Tinian-Saipan- 439 AM ChST Tue Jun 23 2026 ...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...East facing reefs of Tinian and Saipan. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Developing Tropical Depression 08W will create surf heights of 7 to 9 feet along east facing reefs as it crosses near Tinian and Saipan today. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current.
