973 WWAK71 PAFC 312007 NPWAER URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Anchorage AK 1207 PM AKDT Sun May 31 2026 AKZ771-772-020700- /O.NEW.PAFC.WI.Y.0013.260601T1400Z-260602T0700Z/ Kodiak Island Northeast-Kodiak Island Southwest- Including the cities of Ouzinkie, Kodiak City, Port Lions, Larsen Bay, Old Harbor, Karluk, and Akhiok 1207 PM AKDT Sun May 31 2026 ...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 11 PM AKDT MONDAY... * WHAT...East winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. * WHERE...Kodiak Island. * WHEN...From 6 AM to 11 PM AKDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few power outages may result. Downed trees are also possible due to the combination of strong winds and saturated soils from expected excessive rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An unseasonably strong North Pacific low will bring very gusty east to northeasterly winds to Kodiak Island and the surrounding coastal waters Monday morning through Tuesday. The strongest winds and gusts are expected between early Monday morning and late Monday night, with widespread wind gusts near 60 mph possible. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are expected to persist into Tuesday before slowly diminishing Tuesday night. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
