...HEAVY SNOWFALL AND STRONG WINDS THIS EVENING INTO WEDNESDAY...

.Our messy early-Spring weather system is ongoing across portions of 
the area this afternoon, with increasing winds as we transition to 
snow resulting in significant visibility reductions and hazardous 
travel. Rain will quickly change to snow from west central Minnesota 
to south central Minnesota this evening into tonight. Winds 
intensify from the north and become strong with gusts between 45 to 
55
mph. The combination of these winds with falling snow will cause 
significant visibility reductions with a period of blizzard 
conditions expected. Blowing and drifting snow with whiteout 
conditions, particularly in open areas, will make travel dangerous 
at times tonight into a part of Wednesday morning. Even as the 
falling snow ends, blowing snow and visibility restrictions may 
persist. Conditions are expected to gradually improve later 
Wednesday as the snow ends and winds slowly decrease.

...HEAVY SNOWFALL AND STRONG WINDS INTO THIS AFTERNOON...

.Heavy snow is ongoing this morning along and east of a Mankato to 
Minneapolis and Rush City, and west of a Pine Island to Menominie, 
WI line. Winds have been gusting to between 35 and 45 mph in 
Minnesota, which is leading to blowing and drifting, with occasional 
white out conditions in south central Minnesota. A Blizzard Warning 
remains in effect along and south of a New Ulm to Cannon Falls line. 
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Redwood County and 
Sibley county to Chisago county and across the Twin Cities and west 
central Wisconsin. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect along 
a Granite Falls to Mora line. The snow will taper off this morning 
in Minnesota and come to an end in the early afternoon across 
Wisconsin. Though snow may end, it will take until this afternoon 
for roads to be recovered from this snow.
