...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CHST MONDAY...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 9 to
  11 feet in the surf zone. For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous
  rip currents.

* WHERE...North facing reefs of the Marianas.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM ChST Monday. 

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
  localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
  swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A long-period north swell is producing 
  9 to 11 foot waves along north facing reefs. This swell is 
  produced by the distant typhoon Neoguri. This swell is expected 
  to increase over the weekend. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers
should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.

Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip
current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If
able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to
escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Northerly swell generated by a distant Tropical Storm Neoguri (25W)
has diminished enough to allow surf to fall below hazardous levels
along north facing reefs, as well as allow the rip current risk to
drop to moderate along north and east facing reefs.
