WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND DRY CONDITIONS FOR NORTHERN GEORGIA...

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Red
Flag Warning for high winds, low humidity, and dry conditions, 
which is in effect until 9 PM EDT this evening. The Fire Weather 
Watch is no longer in effect.

* Affected Area... North Georgia

* Timing... This afternoon into this evening.

* Winds... SW at 10 to 20 MPH with gusts up to 30 MPH. Gusts up 
  to 40 MPH possible at elevated locations.

* Relative Humidity... 15-25%, as low as the single digits at
  higher elevations.

* Temperatures... 75-80 degrees.

* Impacts...Any fires that develop could spread rapidly. Outdoor 
  burning is strongly discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This warning includes the Chattahoochee National Forest. A Red 
Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are 
either occurring...or will occur within 24 hours.

Please refer to the local burn permitting authorities on whether
you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside...use extreme
 caution.

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the

...RED FLAG WARNING HAS EXPIRED FOR HIGH WINDS, LOW RELATIVE 
HUMIDITY, AND DRY CONDITIONS FOR NORTHERN GEORGIA...

The Red Flag Warning has been allowed to expire this evening.
Winds will remain elevated overnight, but moisture and relative
humidity are expected to improve rapidly with a quick shot of
frontal rainfall near daybreak. If rainfall is lower than
forecast, given stronger winds expected tomorrow, Fire Danger 
Statement issuance may be necessary for portions of north and 
central Georgia.
