This lingering southwesterly swell will be enough to support a continuation of high rip current risk along the south- and southwest-facing beaches of Walton, Bay, and Gulf Counties through tonight, and possibly for one more day on Friday. The risk will be highest during the onshore seabreeze and outgoing tide in the afternoon. Rip risk will decidedly settle down starting Saturday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
