* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHERE...Kings (Brooklyn), Southwest Suffolk, Southern Queens 
  and Southern Nassau Counties.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Life threatening rip currents are likely for all
  people entering the surf zone. Rip currents can sweep even the 
  best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong rip currents were already occurring
  this morning via the combination of low tide and incoming
  southerly swell. Onshore flow will increase late today, with
  gusts 25 to 35 mph developing, with the strongest winds near the
  Rockaways, Long Beach and Jones Beach areas. This in 
  combination with southerly swell of 3 to 4 feet support a high 
  rip current risk for the late day hours.
