* WHAT...Hazardous surf of 8 to 11 feet and dangerous rip
  currents.

* WHERE...West, north, and east facing reefs of the Marianas.

* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 4 PM ChST Friday. For
  the High Rip Current Risk, through Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
  localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
  swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A large northerly swell has started to
  enter the region with altimetry and buoy data showing 9 to
  11 foot seas across the far northern Marianas. A high risk of rip
  currents will be possible along east facing reefs by Thursday as
  the northerly and northeasterly swells increase. However, rip current
  risk for west facing reefs will start to come down by Thursday night

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.

If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against
the current. If able, swim in a direction following the
shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave
for help.

  the region. Ritidian buoy data shows that a north-northwest swell
  remains and the High Surf Advisory was held on fore west facing 
  reefs today. The north-northwest swell should become more 
  north-northeast oriented allowing surf to fall below 9 feet
  for west facing reefs tonight. The High Surf Advisory was continued
  through Saturday for north facing reefs.

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.

Diminishing trade swell and various north swells have allowed surf
conditions to fall below hazardous levels along north facing reefs.
In addition, rip current risk has dropped to moderate for north and
east facing reefs as well. There is a higher chance that surf may 
become hazardous along north facing reefs sometime Monday, as well as
rip current risk becoming high along north and east reefs, due to 
another incoming north swell pulse. As such, a High Surf Advisory and
High Rip Current Risk Statement might be re-issued, if conditions 
warrant.
