* CHANGES...Upgraded Wind Advisory to High Wind Warning due to 
  stronger gust potential.

* WHAT...Southwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 75 mph
  expected, mainly for the Surprise Valley and far northwest 
  Nevada north of Gerlach. 

* WHERE...Surprise Valley California and Northern Washoe County.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to noon PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines,
  leading to some power outages. Travel will be very difficult, 
  especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Now is the time to secure loose outdoor items such as patio
furniture and trash cans before winds increase which could blow 
these items away. The best thing to do is prepare ahead of time by
making sure you have extra food and water on hand, flashlights

  55 mph expected. Waves 2 to 5 feet on Pyramid Lake.

* WHERE...Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties, Greater Reno-
  Carson City-Minden Area and Western Nevada Basin and Range 
  including Pyramid Lake.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 7 PM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow down tree limbs and a few 
  power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially 
  for high profile vehicles. Lake waters will be rough and small 
  boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind prone locations along I-580 north of
  Reno and through Washoe Valley, and US-95 near Walker Lake 
  could see periods of stronger wind gusts in excess of 60 mph at 
  times.
