...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM AST THIS EVENING FOR THE
SOUTHERN AND WESTERN COASTAL PLAINS OF PUERTO RICO...

The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect until 6 PM AST this evening. 

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 014, 018, and 027, which
  includes the southern and western coastal plains of Puerto 
  Rico..

* WIND...Sustained winds around 15 to 20 mph and gusts in sea
  breeze variations around 25 to 30 mph.

* HUMIDITY...Relative humidity values near or below 40 possible.

* THUNDERSTORMS...None.

* HIGHEST THREAT...Across the southwestern coastal plains of
  Puerto Rico, where the most recent surface observations
  indicated a maximum sustained wind of 19 mph and a relative
  humidity value of 46 percent. Given current dry fuels and soils
  conditions, and strong, gusty winds, any fires that occur are 
  likely to easily spread.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. 
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
