* WHAT...For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.
For the Coastal Flood Statement, isolated minor coastal
flooding.
* WHERE...Gulf-facing beaches, including the Matagorda
Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island and the
Bolivar Peninsula.
* WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, through Thursday
morning. For the Coastal Flood Statement, until 9 AM CDT this
morning.
* IMPACTS...Some water on low lying roads and property. Rip
currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into
deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A summary of potential impacts from minor
coastal flooding:
* Slight overwash of water at the intersection of Highway 87
and Highway 124 and other lowest-lying locations on the
Bolivar Peninsula.
* Waves could runup close to parts of the Galveston Seawall,
as well as Blue Water Highway and Beach Drive in Surfside.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not drive through flooded roadways.
