The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Wayne County in southeastern Mississippi...
* Until 1215 AM CDT Thursday.
* At 606 PM CDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms
producing very heavy rainfall and flooding in the city of
Waynesboro. Rainfall amounts in excess of 2 inches may fall in a
short period of time with this storm. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 AM CDT THURSDAY
FOR CENTRAL WAYNE COUNTY...
At 659 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that the thunderstorms
producing torrential rainfall were gradually weakening and pushing
into southern Wayne county. Wayne County Emergency Management
officials reported flash flooding on several streets in the
community of Waynesboro at 615 PM CDT. Excessive runoff from earlier
torrential downpours will continue to result in flash flooding along
some streets, creeks and streams, and other low lying areas. Never
attempt to cross a flooded roadway.
