The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  North central Jackson County in southwestern Minnesota...
  Southeastern Cottonwood County in southwestern Minnesota...

* Until 645 PM CDT.

* At 617 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing both
  tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage were located over
  Bingham Lake, or near Windom, moving northeast at 55 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
  north central Jackson and southeastern Cottonwood Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

This cluster of thunderstorms is capable of producing tornadoes and

COTTONWOOD COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 645 PM CDT...
        
The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However gusty
winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for southwestern
Minnesota.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect for
Cottonwood and Jackson counties until 645 pm CDT.
