...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON
TO 1 AM AKDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...West winds 50 to 70 mph with gusts up to 90 mph 
  expected.

* WHERE...Eastern Aleutians.

* WHEN...From 2 PM Friday to 1 AM AKDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, 
  and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A deepening low pressure system moves 
  north of the Aleutian Chain through Friday night. Strong winds 
  on the backside of the low will increase to hurricane force 
  along the Eastern Aleutians by Friday afternoon. Winds will 
  quickly diminish Saturday morning as the low moves towards the 
  Gulf of Alaska.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown
around or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of
widespread power outages. Use caution if you must drive.

* WHAT...West winds 40 to 55 mph with gusts up to 80 mph 
  expected.

* WHERE...Central Aleutians.

* WHEN...From 8 AM to 4 PM AKDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, 
  and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A deepening low pressure system moves 
  north of the Aleutian Chain through Friday. Strong winds on 
  the backside of the low will increase to hurricane force along 
  the Central Aleutians by Friday morning. Winds will quickly 
  diminish Friday evening as the low moves east towards the Gulf 
  of Alaska.

Strong winds have subsided and gusts 30 to 40 mph will prevail 
for the Central Aleutians through Saturday behind today's low. 
Across the islands between Nikolski and Atka, strong winds will 
continue through this evening, reaching 75 mph at times.

Strong winds have diminished for the eastern Aleutian Islands. 
Gusts of 35 to 45 mph will still be possible through early this 
morning behind the low before winds relax further during the 
afternoon.
