* At 242 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is occurring on 
  Hwy 168 in Aspendell. Mud, dirt, and debris over the roadway.

  HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

AFTERNOON FOR NORTHWESTERN INYO COUNTY...

At 312 PM PDT, Heavy rain from thunderstorms caused rock and debris 
to flow over highway 168 west of Bishop. CHP reports the road has 
been closed.

HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

         creeks, normally dry washes and roads.

At 423 PM PDT, CALTRANS reports Highway 168 west of Bishop to 
Aspendell is closed until further notice in order to clear 3 
separate rock and mudslides caused by heavy rain that fell earlier 
from strong thunderstorms.

HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water crossings,
         creeks, normally dry washes and roads.

  Aspendell, Highway 168 from Bishop to Aspendell, South Lake, 
  Mountain Glen Campground, Creekside Rv Park, 4 Jeffrey, Intake

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 545 PM PDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR 
NORTHWESTERN INYO COUNTY...

Flood waters have receded and additional flooding is no longer 
expected to pose a threat. However, Highway 168 remains closed until 
further notice while road crews clear rocks and debris from 
mudslides in the area. Please continue to heed remaining road 
closures.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 800 PM PDT for portions 
of southeast California and south central Nevada.
