...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH
WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...For the Hard Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as
  low as the lower to mid 20s expected with durations as long as 
  10 to 12 hours in colder locations. For the High Wind Watch, 
  south winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.

* WHERE...Sacramento Valley, Carquinez Strait and Delta, Northern
  San Joaquin Valley and surrounding foothills.

* WHEN...For the Hard Freeze Warning, from 2 AM to 9 AM PST 
  Tuesday. For the High Wind Watch, from late Tuesday night 
  through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
  sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
  plumbing. Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be
  difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this
situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe
location prior to the onset of winds.

your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
