The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a Beach Hazards Statement...which is in effect until 6 PM PST this evening. * Lightning...Scattered showers and thunderstorms will occur through 6 PM at some of the beaches in Orange and San Diego County. Lightning will be the primary threat from these storms. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as strong rip currents...elevated surf heights...minor tidal overflow...or lightning are possible at local beaches.
