Warning for the following rivers in Missouri and Kansas...

  Little Osage River near Horton affecting Vernon County.

  Little Osage River at Fulton affecting Bourbon County.

.Runoff from heavy rainfall received on Wednesday will cause river 
levels to rise above flood stage. Details for each location are 
included below.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

* At 8:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 38.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 41.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just 
  after midnight tonight to a crest of 43.2 feet early Saturday 
  afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday 
  afternoon.
* Impact...At 41.0 feet, minor flooding affects low lying areas near 
  the gage site and farmland along the river.

* At 8:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 12.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this 
  evening to a crest of 28.1 feet just after midnight tonight. It 
  will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning.
* Impact...At 30.0 feet, major flooding begins at the gage site. 
  Flood waters reach the bottom of Old Highway 69 bridge at the gage 
  site.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Little Osage River at Fulton.
* From this evening to Saturday morning.
* At 1:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 15.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this 
  evening to a crest of 28.1 feet just after midnight tonight. It 
  will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet, farmland at the gage site becomes covered 
  by flood waters, and Highway 31, east of town becomes flooded. 
  Highway 31, four miles west of Fulton has flood waters four to six 
  feet in depth.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 28.1 
  feet on 06/10/1995.
