The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The Tamarack Fire burn scar in...
  Alpine County in northern California...
  Douglas County in western Nevada...

* Until 700 PM PDT.

* At 510 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain over the Tamarack Fire Burn Scar. Flash flooding is 
  ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow 
moving through the West Fork of the Carson River near Woodfords and 
Markleeville. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation 
and other loose materials.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms in and around
           the Tamarack Fire Burn Scar.

  IMPACT...Flooding of areas in and around the Tamarack Fire Burn
           Scar.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Alpine Village, Indian Creek Reservoir, Alpine County Airport,

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of 
creeks, roads and normally dry stream beds is likely. The heavy 
rains will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in 
steep terrain, especially in and around these areas.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE TAMARACK FIRE BURN SCAR WILL EXPIRE 
AT 7 PM PDT THIS EVENING FOR ALPINE AND DOUGLAS COUNTIES...

The heavy rain has ended. However, minor debris flows may be 
ongoing. It is best to stay away from the Tamarack Fire burn scar. 
Any additional rainfall this evening could cause further issues for 
the burn area. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM PDT for portions 
of east central California and western Nevada including the Tamarack 
Fire burn scar.
