FOR EDGECOMBE...SOUTHEASTERN HALIFAX AND WILSON COUNTIES...

At 249 PM EST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Roxobel to near Tarboro to near Wilson, moving 
east at 50 mph. This storm recently downed trees on Interstate 95, 
near both Highway One Thirty Seven and at mile marker 162. 

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated. 

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Tarboro, Wilson, Scotland Neck, Elm City, Princeville, Pinetops,
Stantonsburg, Black Creek, Macclesfield and Saratoga.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Straight line winds can blow down trees, power lines, and damage
mobile homes and other buildings. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure
until the storm has passed. Stay away from windows as flying debris
generated by damaging winds can be deadly.
