Warning for the following rivers in North Carolina...

  Lower Roanoke River At Roanoke Rapids affecting Halifax and 
  Northampton Counties.

For the Roanoke River...including Roanoke Rapids...Minor flooding is 
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

* From this evening to Sunday morning.
* At 7:45 PM EST Friday the stage was 9.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just 
  after midnight tonight to a crest of 9.0 feet just after midnight 
  tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow evening.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Farmlands and 
  timberlands adjacent to the river in Roanoke Rapids flood.  
  Property on the farmlands may be at risk from floodwaters.
* Flood History...No available flood history.
