very heavy rain will move across the warned area. Between 1 and 3
inches of rain has already fallen and an additional 1 to 2 inches
is possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

producing flash flooding.

FOR SOUTHEASTERN DAVIDSON AND CENTRAL RANDOLPH COUNTIES...
At 1003 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicates that thunderstorms with very
heavy rain have dropped between 2 to 4 inches of rain across with
warned area with localized amounts near 5 inches. This rain has
produced considerable runoff and rapid rises on creeks and streams
in the area. Flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas is
underway.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS CANCELLED FOR SOUTHEASTERN DAVIDSON AND
CENTRAL RANDOLPH COUNTIES...
The heavy rain across Davidson and Randolph Counties will continue
to become lighter and diminish overnight. Between 2 and 4 inches of
rain fell across many portions of the the area this evening with
localized amounts of 5 inches. This heavy rain resulted in flooding
of low-lying and poor drainage areas and some road closures. Public
safety officials report that conditions have improved and flooding
is no longer expected to pose a threat.
Keep in mind that streams and creeks will continue to run high and
fast for the next few hours. Be careful traveling at night when it
is difficult to see water or debris on roads.
