The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for the mountains and surrounding mountain valleys across portions of southeast Colorado and central Colorado. This Watch includes, but is not limited to, the Spring, Decker, Junkins, and Hayden Pass burn scars, along with the Chalk Creek and Cottonwood Creek areas. * From Noon MDT today through this evening. * Thunderstorms are expected to become scattered to numerous this afternoon and continue into this evening across the Watch area. Storms will be capable of producing torrential rainfall, and will have the potential to repeatedly move over the same locations. These factors, combined with previous rainfall resulting in saturated ground conditions in some areas, will have the potential to cause flash flooding. Flash flooding will be possible anywhere across the Watch area this afternoon into the evening, and some of the flash flooding could have the potential to become considerable. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
