The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The Telegraph and Salt burn scar in...
  Gila County in east central Arizona...

* Until 400 PM MST.

* At 1159 AM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain over the Telegraph and Salt Burn Scar. Between 0.5 and 
  1 inch of rain has fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow 
moving through the Kellner Canyon and Bloody Tanks Wash. The debris 
flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding in and around the Telegraph
           and Salt Burn Scar.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around
           the Telegraph and Salt Burn Scar.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Globe, Miami, Claypool, Central Heights-Midland City and 
  Inspiration.

	AZ Route 188 between mile markers 214 and 224.
	US Highway 60 between mile markers 242 and 244...and

	between mile markers 246 and 250.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of 
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains 
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep 
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE TELEGRAPH AND SALT BURN SCAR REMAINS 
IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON FOR GILA COUNTY...

At 151 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
that heavy rain fell over the Telegraph and Salt Burn Scar. Between 
1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or 
expected to begin shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the Telegraph burn scar may result in debris 
flow moving through the Kellner Canyon, Bloody Tanks Wash, and Pinal 
Creek. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and 
other loose materials.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
         flash flooding in and around the Telegraph and Salt Burn
         Scar.
