265 WWUS81 KPHI 142154 SPSPHI Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ 554 PM EDT Wed Jul 14 2021 NJZ020-026-142245- Coastal Ocean-Ocean- 554 PM EDT Wed Jul 14 2021 ...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT NORTHEASTERN OCEAN COUNTY... At 554 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Dover Beaches North, or near Toms River, moving east at 10 mph. Wind gusts up to 40 mph are possible with this storm. Locations impacted include... Toms River, Beachwood, Point Pleasant Beach, Seaside Heights, Mantoloking, Brick Township, Dover Beaches North, Leisure Village East, Dover Beaches South, Point Pleasant, Brielle, Island Heights, Bay Head and Gilford Park. This includes Garden State Parkway between mile markers 90 and 92. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
