The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Mobile County in southwestern Alabama...

* Until 930 PM CDT Thursday.

* At 945 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  heavy rain has fallen due to thunderstorms. Reports up to six 
  inches have been received across the far southern portion of 
  Mobile County, mostly since Midnight. Flooding is ongoing but will 
  gradually begin to recede this afternoon and into the early 
  evening. The hardest hit areas were generally south of a line from 
  the Theodore Industrial Canal west to where I-10 crosses the 
  Alabama line into Mississippi.

* Flooded yards and water may enter homes that are not elevated. 
  Rushing water near creeks and there have been reports of water 
  flowing over the roadways. The rapid rises will last  maybe 
  another 1 to 2 hours and will replaced with general inundation, or 
  a spreading out of the water.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Theodore, Grand Bay, Bayou La Batre, Dauphin Island, Coden, 
  Alabama Port, Dixon Corner, Kirewakra, Fowl River, Irvington, 
  South Orchard, Saint Elmo, Laurendine, Delchamps, Smithport, 
  Bayleys Corner, Mon Louis, Faustinas, Belle Fontaine and Sunny 
  Cove.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
