In addition, developing breezy north to northwest winds will produce a strong southward flowing longshore current this afternoon, which can knock swimmers off the sandbar into deeper water and make them more susceptible to dangerous rip currents. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...While rip currents will be present all day, the threat will be highest from 3PM to 7PM today. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
