At 918 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 10 miles southeast of Hatteras Ferry Terminal, or 10 miles south of Frisco, moving northeast at 45 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with this storm. Locations impacted include... Avon, Buxton, Avon Pier and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
