* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Warning, two to four feet of
inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near
shorelines and tidal waterways. One to two feet of inundation
above ground level is expected for soundside locations on
Hatteras Island from Buxton to Hatteras Inlet. For the High Surf
Advisory, large breaking waves of 7 to 14 feet expected in the
surf zone.
* WHERE...Vulnerable ocean side areas along the Outer Banks from
Buxton north to Duck. Also, low lying locations soundside from
Buxton to Hatteras Inlet.
* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, from 11 AM Friday to 5
PM EDT Saturday. For the High Surf Advisory, from 2 PM Friday
to 5 PM EDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Up to 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level is
possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways
resulting in a possible threat of property damage. The
combination of high water levels and strong wave action will
lead to areas of ocean overwash during times of high tide, with
NC 12 likely impacted. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions
and localized beach erosion.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If
travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through
water of unknown depth.

Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 8 to 14 feet expected
in the surf zone.
* WHERE...Vulnerable ocean side areas along the Outer Banks from
Buxton north to Duck. Also, low lying locations soundside from
Buxton to Hatteras Inlet.
* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until 5 PM EDT Saturday.
For the High Surf Advisory, until 8 PM EDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Up to 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level
is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
