The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast New Mexico and Texas, including the following areas, in southeast New Mexico, Central Lea County, Eddy County Plains, Guadalupe Mountains of Eddy County, Northern Lea County and Southern Lea County. In Texas, Central Brewster County, Chinati Mountains, Davis Mountains, Davis Mountains Foothills, Eastern Culberson County, Guadalupe Mountains Above 7000 Feet, Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains, Loving, Marfa Plateau, Presidio Valley, Reeves County Plains and Van Horn and Highway 54 Corridor. * Through late tonight. * Deep moisture has arrived from the remnants of Tropical Cyclone Nora. This combined with orographic lift will lead to scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms this afternoon through tonight. These storms are likely to produce locally heavy rainfall with the potential for storms to train repeatedly over some locations. * The potential exists for flash flooding to develop, especially in rough terrain and urban areas.
