Warning for the following rivers in Missouri...

  North River at Palmyra.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast 
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even 
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor 
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as 
conditions change.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 1:30 AM CDT Saturday was 13.2 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise below flood stage late 
  this evening and continue falling to 14.7 feet this morning. 
  Additional rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, Marion County Rd 341 north of Palmyra 
  inundated. Significant agricultural land flooding...right bank.

  afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday 
  morning.

  gage is overtopped, flooding agricultural fields.

* At 8:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 17.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to rise to moderate flood stage 
  after midnight tonight and crest near 22.7 feet Sunday afternoon.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet, House and trailer home below bridge on 
  Bridge Street floods.  Water was 6-8 ft deep at this house in July 
  2008.  Bridge Street likely floods at this height.
