The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for portions of southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas, including the following areas and parishes, in southwest Louisiana, Acadia, Calcasieu, East Cameron, Jefferson Davis, Vermilion and West Cameron. In southeast Texas, Hardin, Jefferson, Orange, Southern Jasper and Southern Newton. * From 7 PM CDT this evening through Wednesday morning. * Tropical Storm Nicholas will slowly move northward along the western Gulf of Mexico over the next several days. Rain bands associated with the disturbance will come ashore as a result, yielding periodic heavy rainfall. Rainfall totals of around 5 to 10 inches are forecast, with locally higher amounts possible.
