...EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR EXPECTED ACROSS THE SOUTHERN COASTAL 
PLAINS OF PUERTO RICO...

.Soils and vegetation continue to be very dry, and a persistent, 
drier- than- normal air mass will continue to move into the area. 
Since wetting rains are not anticipated, the combination of fresh 
to locally strong winds along, low relative humidities and 
favorable soils and fuels conditions will support extreme fire 
behavior today.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM AST THIS EVENING FOR 
FIRE WEATHER ZONES 014 AND 027...

The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect until 6 PM AST this evening. 

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 014 and 027 or Southern
  Coastal Plains of Puerto Rico. 

* WIND...15 to 25 mph, with gusts to around 40 mph. 

* HUMIDITY...Low to mid 40s, briefly reaching mid 30s. 

* THUNDERSTORMS...None.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. 
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
