...FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM EDT
THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as mid to upper 20s 
  expected.

* WHERE...Much of eastern Kentucky.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 AM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill any remaining crops,
  other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected 
  outdoor plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Per University of Kentucky Ag contact the
  growing season is over, but there could still be issues with
  Johnson grass and livestock.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures of 25 to 30 degrees will occur in 
  most locations.

* WHERE...The Freeze Warning covers most of eastern Kentucky.

* WHEN...It is in effect until 9 AM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freezing conditions will kill vegetation 
  sensitive to the cold, and possibly damage unprotected outdoor 
  plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The University of Kentucky College of 
  Agriculture reports that the growing season is finished. However, 
  they state that there could still be issues with livestock 
  consuming recently frozen Johnsongrass.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Any sensitive plants desired to survive the cold temperatures need 
to be protected. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of 
outdoor water lines, they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to 
drip slowly.
