THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Life-threatening waves and currents are expected tonight
  into Friday evening. Strong to severe storms forecast to cross
  Lake Michigan tonight could cause water level fluctuations that
  continue through the day Thursday. These water level
  fluctuations will increase the likelihood of dangerous current
  development, even during periods of low wave heights. Wave
  heights will be greater during or in the vicinity of
  thunderstorm activity.

* WHERE...In Indiana, La Porte county. In Michigan, Berrien 
  county.

* WHEN...From 2 AM EDT /1 AM CDT/ Thursday through Friday 
  evening.

* IMPACTS...Life-threatening rip and structural currents can pull
  swimmers into deeper water. High waves can sweep people off
  piers. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Southwest winds tonight will shift north at
  15 to 25 mph Thursday into Friday morning. Wave direction will
  remain out of the north through Friday evening. Despite 
  subsiding wave heights on Friday afternoon, dangerous currents 
  may still be present due to wave periods of 6 to 7 seconds.
