Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...Illinois...
Wildcat Creek near Lafayette affecting Tippecanoe County.
Wabash River from Lafayette to Riverton.
.Rainfall amounts of over 2 inches across parts of central Indiana
will produce minor flooding along Wildcat Creek near Lafayette and
along the Wabash River from near Lafayette to Riverton. River
flooding should begin Monday and continue through next week.
Additional Rainfall of xxxx inches over SPECIFIC AREA expected on
DAY/S could PRODUCE HIGHER CRESTS/LENGTHEN TIME IN
FLOOD**************.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive

...The Flood Warning continues for the following streams in
Indiana...
Tippecanoe River near Delphi, Wildcat Creek near Jerome and near
Lafayette, Wabash River from Lafayette to Riverton.
...Forecast flooding changed to Moderate severity and increased in
duration for the following rivers in Indiana...
Mississinewa River near Ridgeville and the Wabash River near
Lafayette.
.Widespread flooding along the Wabash river basin has either begun
or will begin over the next couple of days as a result of 2-3 inches
across the upper portions of the basin, and around an inch in the
lower portions of the basin. These higher rain amounts have led to
localized moderate flooding along the Mississinewa River near
Ridgeville and will lead to brief moderate flooding along the Wabash
River near Lafayette. Flooding along the Tippecanoe, Wildcat, and
Mississinewa will be brief and should come to an end by Tuesday.
Flooding along the Wabash will likely persist through much of the
week and possibly into next week. Little to no rain is expected for
much of the week which will limit further possible flooding.

* Forecast...The river will rise to 21.5 feet tomorrow evening. It
will then fall below flood stage Friday afternoon to 15.9 feet and
begin rising again Friday evening. It will rise above flood stage
late Friday evening and continue to rise to 16.1 feet early
Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage again early
Saturday morning to 12.2 feet and begin rising again Tuesday
evening. It will rise to 13.4 feet Wednesday, May 19. It will then
fall again and remain below flood stage.
* Impact...At 21.0 feet, Lanes to river residences west of South
River Road south of Covington flooded. Sandhill Road at Mud Run
just northeast of Covington begins to flood. Extensive lowland

* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will fall to 15.8 feet and then begin rising
this afternoon. It will then rise above flood stage this evening
to 19.9 feet Friday evening. It will fall below flood stage early
Monday morning to 10.9 feet and then begin rising Wednesday, May
19 then rise again.
* Impact...At 19.5 feet, Water begins to rise in the Izaak Walton
Lake. Sheet flowing water begins in the wetland project between
U.S. 40 and I-70, and during a prolonged flood event project fills
about 75 percent.

Wabash River from near Lafayette to near Riverton.
Wildcat Creek near Lafayette affecting Tippecanoe County.
.Rainfall over the weekend has caused widespread flooding along the
Wabash River. Minor flooding is expected to continue for most sites
through the week. Crests will begin to occur over the next few days
given mostly dry conditions through Friday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Stay tuned to further developments by listening to your local radio,
television, or NOAA Weather Radio for further information.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
