...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis, Indiana has issued 
a Flood Warning for the following river in Indiana...Illinois...

  Wabash River.

.Recent snow melt and heavy rain has brought the Wabash River level 
to flood stage at Vincennes in southwest Indiana.  The water level 
is expected to remain quasi-stationary at the flood stage of 16 feet 
until the weekend, then fall Sunday onward, thus affecting only 
lowlands.  Dry weather, plentiful sunshine, and seasonable 
temperatures into early next week will aid in receding water and 
drying of soils.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths 
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, 
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, 
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route 
over higher ground.

  East Fork White River, White River, Wabash River.

.Flooding continues along much of the Wabash River in western 
Indiana, on the White River from Elliston southward in southwestern 
Indiana, and on the East Fork White River from Rivervale downstream 
in southern and southwestern Indiana.  This flood event is a result 
of recent snow melt and heavy rain.  Flooding is expected to 
conclude the middle of next week.

As of late Thursday evening, the crest on the Wabash River was 
at Hutsonville.  On the White River it was reaching Petersburg. And, 
on the East Fork White River the crest was in the vicinity of 
Rivervale and Bedford.

Quiet weather will continue through the weekend with dry weather, 
plentiful sunshine, and seasonable temperatures, all of which will 
help dry wet soil and allow rivers to recede.

  southwest Vigo County occurs. County roads flood in southwest Vigo 
  County. The wetland projects between U.S. 40 and I-70 begin to 
  slowly fill.

  in Illinois are impassable.  Low agricultural land floods.

.Flooding continues along much of the Wabash River in western 
Indiana, on lower parts of the White, and on lower parts of the East 
Fork White. This flood event is a result of recent snow melt and 
heavy rain. Dry weather and sunny conditions over the next 5 days 
will allow rivers to recede with flooding expected to conclude the 
middle of next week.

As of Friday morning, the crest on the Wabash was at Riverton. On 
the White River it was at Petersburg and on the East Fork White the 
crest is near Bedford.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths 
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, 
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, 
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route 
over higher ground.

.Flooding continues along much of the Wabash River in western 
Indiana, on lower parts of the White, and on lower parts of the East 
Fork White. This flood event is a result of recent snow melt and 
heavy rain. Dry weather and sunny conditions over the next 5 days 
will allow rivers to recede with flooding expected to conclude the 
middle of next week.

As of Saturday morning, the crest on the Wabash was between Riverton 
and Vincennes. On the White River it was at Petersburg and on the 
East Fork White the crest is near Bedford.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths 
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, 
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, 
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route 
over higher ground.

* Until Sunday evening.
* At 8:00 AM EST Friday, March 05 the stage was 21.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 8:00 AM EST Friday was 21.8 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late 
  tomorrow morning and continue falling to 5.5 feet Monday, March 15.
* Impact...At 21.2 feet, At this level during December 2013 
  backwater reached the tailwater of Lake Monroe as Salt Creek 
  stopped falling.  The crest of the river followed 2 days later and 
  reached 27.6 feet at Bedford and caused Salt Creek to rise nearly 
  6 feet at the tailwater of Monroe Lake.

  feet on 03/06/1997.

* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 5:45 AM CST Saturday /6:45 AM EST Saturday/ was 22.2 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.3 feet 
  tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early 
  Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet, Flood waters begin to affect residents of 
  East Mt. Carmel, Indiana. Fifth Street that parallels river 
  closes.  Twin restaurant along the river also closes.  Several 
  local river roads flood.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.3 
  feet on 04/03/1948.

* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 7:30 AM EST Saturday was 25.5 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.4 feet 
  this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow 
  afternoon.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet, A few local county roads begin to flood and 
  are impassable.  These include Buddha Road south of the gage and 
  Lawrenceport Road.  All local roads across the East Fork of the 
  White River are threatened by high water, and some are closed.  
  Flooding of agricultural lands in Lawrence County is in progress.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 23.4 
  feet on 04/01/1975.
