Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...
East Fork White River near Bedford affecting Martin and Lawrence
Counties.
East Fork White River at Williams affecting Martin and Lawrence
Counties.
.Minor flooding is expected to develop along the East Fork of the
White River at Bedford and Williams by Wednesday. The river is
expected to crest on Thursday, and fall below flood stage over the
upcoming weekend.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground.

* There is no current observed data.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
Wednesday morning to a crest of 21.8 feet Thursday morning. It
will then fall below flood stage early Saturday afternoon.
* Impact...At 21.2 feet, At this level during December 2013
backwater reached the tailwater of Lake Monroe as Salt Creek
stopped falling. The crest of the river followed 2 days later and
reached 27.6 feet at Bedford and caused Salt Creek to rise nearly
6 feet at the tailwater of Monroe Lake.

* Impact...At 9.3 feet, Flood crest of August 2009. State Road 450
near Williams and South Chase Riffle Road located about 2 miles
downstream of Williams flooded at this level. Flooding of low

Portions of the Driftwood, White, and the East Fork of the White
rivers.
.Recent excessive rainfall will result in river flooding over
portions of some rivers in central and southern Indiana. Minor
flooding is expected to develop today along the White River at
Petersburg today, and at Hazleton Tuesday. Minor flooding is
expected to develop along the East Fork of the White river at
Riverton, Bedford, and Williams by Wednesday.

* Impact...At 11.0 feet, In Johnson county, CR 400 S east of US 31,
CR 725 E north of CR 400 S and Greensburg Road from CR 700 E to CR
800 E are closed by flood waters. Low agricultural land is
flooded. A few homes and outbuildings surrounded by high water.
At least one residential unit would flood if water rose another 1
to 2 feet.

* Impact...At 12.0 feet, Lowland flooding reported along Sugar Creek
and Big Blue River in southern Johnson County in March 2011.
Lowland flooding begins along portions of the Driftwood River in
northern Bartholomew County. Water is near CR 950N to Double Y
Saddle Club.

than 50% of the flood plain in Jackson County is underwater.
Flood waters near the east edge of Medora. High water isolates
wastewater treatment plant at Seymour. Many county roads that do
not cross the river begin to flood. Many state and county roads
are impassable by water. High water affects many rural
residents...but only a few evacuations are necessary. Flood
waters surround most river cabins.

...The Flood Warning is cancelled for a portion of the following
waterways in Indiana...
Sugar Creek, Driftwood River.
...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
East Fork White River, White River.
.Recent excessive rainfall either has produced or is expected to
produce river flooding over portions of some rivers in central and
southern Indiana. Water levels on the White River from Elliston
southward are forecast to be in the minor flood category this week.
Moderate flood conditions are ongoing at Seymour on the East Fork
White River.
Minor flood category flood conditions are forecast for Rivervale to
Williams. Flooding along the Wabash River has come to an end, as
has flooding on Sugar Creek and Driftwood River. Flooding will last
as late as into early next week.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream,
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route
over higher ground.
Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

produce river flooding along portions of the White River and East
Fork White River in southern Indiana.
Water levels on the White River from Elliston southward are forecast
to be in the minor flood category this week. The East Fork White
River at Seymour will fall below moderate flood stage before
daybreak Tuesday. Minor flood category conditions are forecast for
Rivervale to Williams on the East Fork.
Flooding will last as long as into early next week. Dry weather and
plentiful sunshine through Wednesday will aid the return to lower
river levels. Chances for rain will return Thursday afternoon.
Rainfall Friday into Saturday night likely will bring renewed rises
to area waterways.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

.Recent excessive rainfall either has produced or is expected to
produce river flooding along portions of the White River and East
Fork White River in southern Indiana.
Water levels on the White River from Elliston southward are
currently in flood, with the crest as of late Tuesday evening at
Edwardsport. Flooding is ongoing at Seymour and Rivervale on the
East Fork White River, and is forecast to go into flood at Bedford
and Williams Wednesday. The crest on the East Fork White River is
approaching Rivervale as of late Tuesday evening. Flooding is
expected to stay below moderate flood level on both rivers and last
into the weekend on the East Fork White River, and into early next
week on the White River.
Chances for rain will return Thursday afternoon. Rainfall Friday
through Tuesday increasingly is looking to bring renewed rises to
area waterways and flooding to Indiana.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,

Indiana...
East Fork White River and White River in south central and
southwest Indiana
.Recent excessive rainfall has produced minor river flooding along
portions of the White River and East Fork White River in south
central and southwest Indiana.
Water levels on the White River from Edwardsport southward are
currently in flood, with the crest as of Wednesday evening just
south of Edwardsport. Flooding is ongoing in Lawrence County on the
East Fork White River, which is currently near crest at Rivervale.
Flooding is expected to stay below moderate flood level on both
rivers and last at least into the weekend on the East Fork White
River, and into early next week on the White River.
Chances for rain will return Thursday afternoon. Widespread,
potentially heavy rainfall late this week into early next week
appears likely to produce additional rises on area rivers and may
produce flooding more extensive than what has been experienced in
recent days.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,

Illinois...
East Fork White River, White River, and Wabash River in
south central, southwest, and west central Indiana
.Recent excessive rainfall has produced minor river flooding along
portions of the White River and East Fork White River in south
central and southwest Indiana. Expected heavy rain will cause the
Wabash River to flood in west central Indiana.
Water levels on the White River from just south of Edwardsport
southward are currently in flood, with the crest as of Friday
morning near Petersburg. Flooding is expected to stay below moderate
flood level on all rivers.
Chances for rain can be expected at times from now through at least
the middle of next week. Widespread, potentially heavy rainfall
late this week into early next week appears likely to produce
additional rises on area rivers and may produce flooding more
extensive than what has been experienced in recent days.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream,
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route
over higher ground.

* Impact...At 20.5 feet, Lawrenceport Road just east of Lawrenceport
and on the south side of river begins to flood around this level.
By 22 feet this road is impassable. During typical floods in this
area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than
10 feet of water. During the January 2005 flood...this area would
have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17
feet. In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water
would have covered this location.
