...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT FOR GEORGETOWN...SOUTH CENTRAL HORRY AND
CENTRAL WILLIAMSBURG COUNTIES UNTIL 1100 PM EDT...
At 1006 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms near Eadytown to just south of Nesmith. The line was
moving to the east southeast with the individual thunderstorms
moving to the east at 30 mph.
Winds in excess of 40 mph, very heavy rain, and frequent lightning
will be possible with this storm.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
