MIDNIGHT PST MONDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Sustained west winds 35 to 45 mph, with gusts near 80 
  mph expected. The most intense wind gusts will impact areas 
  just below mountain passes, especially around Mojave.

* WHERE...Indian Wells Valley and Kern County Desert.

* WHEN...From midnight Sunday night until midnight Monday night.

* IMPACTS...Damaging wind gusts will blow down power lines. 
  Power outages are expected. Travel will be perilous, 
  particularly for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other 
  sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor 
  plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
