HIZ014-015-180700- /O.NEW.PHFO.WI.Y.0011.210317T2200Z-210318T0700Z/ Lanai Makai-Lanai Mauka- Including the cities of Manele and Lanai City 1143 AM HST Wed Mar 17 2021 ...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM HST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Northeast winds 25 to 30 mph with localized gusts over 45 mph expected. * WHERE...Lanai Hawaii. * WHEN...Until 9 PM HST this evening. * IMPACTS...Winds this strong can down trees and large branches, and cause sporadic power outages. Driving may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Winds this strong can tear off shingles, knock down tree branches, blow away tents and awnings and make it difficult to steer, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Saturated soils along with gusty winds can increase the chances for larger trees to fall over. The wind will cause difficult driving conditions for large trucks, trailers and campers. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... User extra caution when walking or driving. Be careful when open or closing doors. Watch out for falling tree branches when walking or driving.
