The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The island of Oahu in Honolulu County

* Until 545 PM HST.

* At 236 PM HST, radar and rain gages show heavy rain up to 3 inches 
  per hour over windward and the north shore of Oahu. The heaviest 
  rain is currently falling over Haleiwa, Waikane and Waiahole. 
  Emergency management reports a landslide blocking the Kailua bound 
  lane of the Pali Highway and ponding of various roadways. Punaluu, 
  Waiahole, Waikane and Kawa Streams are among the streams starting 
  to rise in response to the rain.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads,
           properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road
           closures possible in some areas. Landslides are
           possible in steep terrain.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Waikane, Wahiawa, Punaluu, Mililani, Waiahole, Kaaawa, Hauula, 
  Wheeler Field, Pearl City, Kahaluu, Schofield Barracks, Laie, 
  Ahuimanu, Aiea, Halawa, Kahuku, Haleiwa, Waialua, Kaneohe and 
  Kalihi.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on 
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

The heavy rains may cause rock and mudslides in steep terrain areas.

persists.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM HST THIS 
AFTERNOON FOR THE ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY...

At 329 PM HST, radar and rain gages show heavy rain up to 3 inches 
per hour over windward Oahu continuing in the area near Waikane and 
Waihole. Rain has diminished along the north shore at this time. 
Emergency management reports Kamehameha Highway near Waikane Bridge 
is closed. The Waiahole Stream remains elevated, with other streams 
along the windward sides running high due to the recent rains.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads,
         properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road
         closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible
