* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southeastern Cleveland County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...
  Western Gaston County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 445 PM EDT.

* At 354 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Shelby,
  moving east at 10 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Shelby, Kings Mountain, Cherryville, Grover, Patterson Springs,
  Waco, Earl, Lawndale, Bessemer City and Crowders Mountain State
  Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Scattered trees and power lines will be blown down in the warned
area. Seek shelter inside an interior room.

This storm is also producing extremely heavy rainfall. Flooding of
drainage ditches and low lying areas may occur. Small streams will
rise rapidly. Do not drive through areas where water is flowing over
the road.

WESTERN GASTON COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 445 PM EDT...
                
The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore the warning will be allowed to expire.  However gusty winds
and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm.
