PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  the Euharlee Creek near Rockmart.
* Until just after midnight tonight.
* At 4:30 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 7.9 feet, and rising.
* Flood stage is 9 feet.
* Minor flooding is expected.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late 
  this afternoon, rising to a crest of 9.9 feet this evening. It 
  will then fall below flood stage later this evening or early 
  Friday.
* Impact...At 8 feet, bankfull conditions occur along the creek 
  upstream and downstream from the stream gage on the Church Street 
  bridge and low lying portions of the Wayside Park begin to flood.
* Impact...At 9 feet, minor flooding begins along the creek upstream 
  and downstream from the gage on Church Street. Portions of the 
  Wayside Park will have water a foot or two deep and sections of 
  the sidewalk along Water Street will begin to flood. The water 
  reaches the bottom of The Silver Comet Trail foot bridge just 
  downstream from West Elm Street.
* Impact...At 10 feet, minor flooding continues and expands along 
  the creek upstream and downstream from the gage on Church Street. 
  Portions of the Wayside Park will be under 1 to 3 feet of water 
  and most of the sidewalks on the Silver Comet Trail will be 
  flooded. The water reaches the top of The Silver Comet Trail foot 
  bridge just downstream from West Elm Street.

* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this 
  evening and continue falling to 2.6 feet tomorrow evening.
* Impact...At 10 feet, Minor flooding continues and expands along 
  the creek upstream and downstream from the gage on Church Street. 
  Portions of the Wayside Park will be under 1 to 3 feet of water.
