Flood Warning for the following rivers in Georgia...

  Chattahoochee River near Atlanta South Cobb Drive affecting 
  Fulton and Cobb Counties.

  Chattahoochee River near Whitesburg affecting Coweta, Carroll and 
  Heard Counties.

  Sweetwater Creek near Austell affecting Douglas and Cobb Counties.

  Oconee River near Penfield affecting Greene, Oconee and Clarke 
  Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

* Flood Warning for
  the Chattahoochee River near Atlanta South Cobb Drive.
* From late tonight to Tuesday morning.
* At 9:00 PM EDT Monday the stage was 20.1 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 24 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just 
  after midnight tonight to a crest of 24.5 feet just after midnight 
  tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight.
* Impact...At 24 feet, Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding occurs 
  of the woodlands and fields in the natural flood plain upstream 
  and downstream from the gage on South Cobb Drive. The water level 
  reaches the railroad tracks in the industrial area on both sides 
  of the river near the bridge.

* Flood Warning for
  the Chattahoochee River near Whitesburg.
* From Tuesday afternoon to Thursday morning.
* At 9:15 PM EDT Monday the stage was 9.1 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 17 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early 
  tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 19 feet early Wednesday 
  afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Thursday 
  morning.
* Impact...At 19 feet, Minor flooding continues in the woodlands and 
  fields upstream and downstream from the gage at U.S. Highway 27 or 
  Georgia Highway 16. The parking lot of Riverside Park next to the 
  bridge will begin to flood. A sod farm upstream also experiences 
  flooding. Flooding occurs on some unimproved dirt roads along the 
  river. The playground at a day use area in the Chattahoochee Bend 
  State Park will be under two feet of water. Flood waters will 
  surround tent platforms on the North Camping Site of the park.

  the Sweetwater Creek near Austell.
* From late Tuesday night to late Wednesday night.
* At 8:45 PM EDT Monday the stage was 6.2 feet and slowly rising.
* Flood stage is 10 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early 
  Wednesday morning to a crest of 11.2 feet Wednesday morning. It 
  will then fall below flood stage late Wednesday evening.
* Impact...At 12 feet, Minor flooding continues in the woodlands and 
  fields upstream and downstream from the gage near the Interstate 
  20 bridge. Portions of a paintball playing field just downstream 
  of the bridge and athletic fields in the Woodrow Wilson Park on 
  Mount Vernon Road are flooded with one to two feet of water. A 
  portion of Wren Circle in Douglas County...the County Iron Works 
  and Sunlight Drive in Cobb County begin to flood.

* At 9:00 PM EDT Monday the stage was 5.6 feet and slowly rising.
* Flood stage is 13 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early 
  Wednesday morning to a crest of 15.4 feet early Thursday 
  afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday 
  morning.
* Impact...At 15 feet, Minor flooding continues to expand into 
  fields...woodlands and pastures...mainly on the right bank of the 
  river...upstream and downstream from the gage on the Georgia 
  Highway 15 bridge.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.4 
  feet on 07/26/2001.
