The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for portions of central Georgia and eastern north Georgia mainly along and east of a line from Americus to Macon to Eatonton to Washington. * Through 4 am Sunday. * Rounds of heavy rainfall are expected this afternoon and evening in the watch area with amounts of 1 to 2 inches and locally higher possible. Some areas of previous rainfall of 1 to 2 inches from yesterday have kept soils wet and could more easily allow for runoff and flash flooding with additional rainfall expected. * Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks and inundate fields, roads, businesses and other property. Roads may be closed. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. && $$
