...MAJOR WINTER STORM CONTINUES TO IMPACT THE REGION THIS 
MORNING...

.Bitterly cold air and snow will impact the region this morning,
and a coat of freezing rain and sleet accumulations from overnight 
will remain trapped beneath the layer of snow that continues to 
fall over the Coastal Prairies. The system could lead to major 
stress on the region's infrastructure as well as cripple travel. 
The coldest temperatures since 1989 will impact the region. Wind 
chill indices could fall to between 15 below zero to near zero 
early this morning.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY...

* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, snow accumulations of 3 to
  5 inches with isolated totals up to 6 inches have occurred
  across much of South Central Texas, and ice accumulations of one
  to two tenths of an inch have occurred. Additional 
  accumulations of mainly snow will continue over Coastal Plains 
  in the early morning hours with precipitation chances expected 
  to end after sunrise. Winds continue to gust up to near 30 mph. 
  For the Wind Chill Warning, dangerously cold wind chills make 
  the temperature feel as cold as 15 degrees below zero.

* WHERE...South Central Texas.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until noon CST Today. For
  the Wind Chill Warning, through noon CST Today.

* IMPACTS...Nearly all of South Central Texas has received
  measurable amounts of ice and snow, so with the frigid
  temperatures in place, widespread icing issues can be expected
  on area roadways through this morning. The cold wind chills 
  could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Bitterly cold air and wind chills that can
  lead to hypothermia for anyone stranded outdoors or on icy roads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Avoid outside activities if possible. When outside, make sure you
wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.

...Very Cold Temperatures and Wind Chills as well as ice and snow
covered roads continued across South Central Texas...

.All winter type precipitation has ended. However, roads will
continue to be ice and snow covered for the remainder of the day
into at least Tuesday. Winds have been slowly decreasing and
temperatures have been slowly rising. As a result, wind chills
have been slowly rising, as well. However, there may be a few 
spots with wind chills this afternoon into tonight.
