The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect until 7 PM CST this evening. * WINDS...Northwest to North 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...15 to 20 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended today. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. Critical fire weather conditions are no longer occurring. However, elevated fire weather conditions will continue through the evening as wind gusts around 15 to 25 mph continue. Relative humidity values are expected to recover to around 75 to 85 percent overnight. Residents are urged to exercise care with respect to all outdoor activities that could inadvertently cause wildfires. Report wildfires quickly to the nearest fire department or law enforcement office. $$
