South Central Luna County in southwestern New Mexico...
* Until 100 PM MDT.
* At 958 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 3.5 inches of rain have
fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

SOUTH CENTRAL LUNA COUNTY...
The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a
threat. Please continue to heed any road closures.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 1200 AM MDT Sunday for
portions of New Mexico and southwest Texas.
Heavy rain is still possible later today. If rain falls over the
area again arroyos and low water crossing will quickly fill with
water.
